Start with a portable Academic Profile
The free starting point is a structured .md Academic Profile and companion instruction file that a learner can review, keep, edit, and use with compatible language models. It should describe the learner’s goals and preferences without pretending to know more than the learner has shared.

AIOS is designed for local-first use and configured around the tools the customer chooses. Portable knowledge files can remain on the customer’s computer. Some optional features may send selected content to third-party AI or cloud services; data handling depends on the final configuration and must be explained before setup.
